چکیده

Catalytic cyclopropanation of commercial 1,2or 1,4cis-polybutadiene, respectively, with ethyl diazoacetate catalyzed by [TpCu(NCMe)] (Tp 1⁄4 hydrotris(3,4,5-tribromo-1-pyrazolyl)borate) at room temperature afforded high molecular weight (Mn > 10 5 mol ) side-chain or main-chain, respectively, carboxyethyl cyclopropyl-substituted polymers with variable and controlled degrees of functionalization. Complete functionalization of 1,4-cis-polybutadiene afforded poly[ethylene-alt-(3-ethoxycarbonyl-cyclopropene)]. Catalytic hydrogenation of residual double bonds of partially cyclopropanated polybutadienes provided access to the corresponding saturated polyolefins. Thermal properties are reported.

Synergistic effect of additives on cyclopropanation of olefins.

An efficient cyclopropanation of olefins with Zn(CH2I)2, a catalytic amount of CCl3CO2H, and 1,2-dimethoxyethane at room temperature is described. A wide variety of olefins, including acid-sensitive substrates, can be cyclopropanated in 71-99% yield.

On the mechanism of the Rh(II)-catalysed cyclopropanation of alkenes.

The mechanism of Rh(ii)-catalysed cyclopropanation has been investigated computationally using Rh(2)(formate)(4) as a model precatalyst, with the model organic substrates CH(2)N(2) and C(2)H(4) and MeCl as a model for coordinating solvent. Three potential carriers of catalysis have been identified, one retaining the Rh(2)(formate)(4) framework and two others resulting from ligand insertion of R...

Expedient synthesis of cyclopropane alpha-amino acids by the catalytic asymmetric cyclopropanation of alkenes using iodonium ylides derived from methyl nitroacetate.

A highly enantioselective (up to 97.5% ee) and diastereoselective (95:5 dr trans/cis) Cu(I)-catalyzed cyclopropanation of alkenes using phenyliodonium ylide generated in situ from iodosobenzene and methyl nitroacetate is reported. The cyclopropanation took place with high enantioselectivity for a wide range of alkenes, and the reaction was performed at room temperature. 1-Nitrocyclopropyl ester...

Highly diastereoselective and enantioselective olefin cyclopropanation using engineered myoglobin-based catalysts.

Using rational design, an engineered myoglobin-based catalyst capable of catalyzing the cyclopropanation of aryl-substituted olefins with catalytic proficiency (up to 46,800 turnovers) and excellent diastereo- and enantioselectivity (98-99.9%) was developed. This transformation could be carried out in the presence of up to 20 g L(-1) olefin substrate with no loss in diastereo- and/or enantiosel...

Cyclopropanations via Heme Carbenes: Basic Mechanism and Effects of Carbene Substituent, Protein Axial Ligand, and Porphyrin Substitution.

Catalytic carbene transfer to olefins is a useful approach to synthesize cyclopropanes, which are key structural motifs in many drugs and biologically active natural products. While catalytic methods for olefin cyclopropanation have largely relied on rare transition-metal-based catalysts, recent studies have demonstrated the promise and synthetic value of iron-based heme-containing proteins for...
